My Firstborn (Blog Post)

Here it is!

Blog post #1.

My first foray into the crowded world of people telling the world what they think and assuming anyone is even interested in listening.

This post is special.

It is my blog's firstborn child.

Did you know that in Jewish law, the firstborn receives a larger portion of the inheritance than future children?

One of the reasons for this is that the firstborn is, in a sense, the guinea pig. He is the trial run. He is the one who bears the brunt of our ineptitude as new parents. We make all our mistakes on him, and learn what to do better for the next ones. We put so much energy into him, and often that backfires.

So many parents that I speak to echo this sentiment. "If only I had known," "if only I had done xyz." And then of course, "I did better with the next one."

So here is my firstborn blog post.

It's a little wonky.

Has some social difficulties.

But it's so special.

It's making me a "blogger".

And even though it turns out a little awkward, even though I'm saying things here that I might regret, it will always hold a special place in my heart.

I will add more posts, I will learn from my mistakes, and (hopefully) come up with more, better content.

And with each new addition I will be a better writer, a better provider, and a better parent.

Thanks for joining me on my journey!

Adina
